Today, Im going to share my exact formula that I useto keep growing my website.Hi everyone, Im Neil Patel, and today Im going to break down the advanced SEO formulathat helped me rank for 477,000 keywords. The first step that you need to takeif you want to rank for keywords is to focus on the pagesthat drive revenue.Product pages, service pages, and content pages.
A lot of people want to optimizejust for the sake of getting more traffic.Ranking for more keywords that dont drive revenuedoesnt really matter.So if you have, instead of goal tracking,conversion tracking in your Google Outlooks,make sure you do that now.So, once you figure out the pages that drive your revenue,the second step that you need to takeis to log into Google Search Console.

See what the keywords arethat are driving traffic to those pages.See the keywords that arent giving you a lot of clicksbut have a lot of impressions, right?Look for keywords that haveless than a 5% clickthrough rate.In other words, theyre getting a lot of impressionsbut very few people are clicking overand going to your website.I want you to export all those keywords into a CSV.Then, once you export them, sort them by impression countand click count.Also, look at the rankings.Look at the ones that arent ranking as high.Keywords that are in position one, two, and three,sure, you may be able to improve them a little bit,but they keywords that are in position seven, eight,nine, and ten?
Theyre much more likely to provide an impact.According to ClickFlow,which optimizes title tagson a daily basis through their software,they found that through a researchof over five million title tags,that if youre in position seven, eight, nine, or ten,moving up a few spots doesnt do much of a difference.But, if you can get those spotsfrom going from number seven or eight,all the way up to number three or two,you see a massive gain.And thats why you want to identify thoseand by exporting into a CSV file, you can see the onesthat are much more likely to give you that boost in trafficversus the ones that wont do much for you.The next step, I want you to take all those keywordsand then add it into your content.
Whether its your title tag, your meta description,youre adjusting your content to include those keywords.If you dont do that, what youll find isyour rankings wont go up much more.And theres a few hacks that you can doto increase your clicks, as well,which then boosts your rankings.For example, did you know that title tagswith question marks have more than a 10% increasein clicks than title tags without a question mark?And thats according to ClickFlow, again.So, if you include things like that,youll get more clicks, youll boost up your user signals,and you can start ranking higher.The next thing I want you to dois head on over to Ubersuggestand type in all the keywords that you rank for,and youre going to have to do this one by one.Now, once you head over to Ubersuggestclick on the Keyword Ideas report.Itll show you all the long-tail variationsof that keywordthat also drive traffic and are popular.
Itll show you the CPC dataand all this is really importantbecause keywords with a higher CPCtypically will drive more conversionsand sales and leads.So, once you have all those keywords,what you want to do is readjust your contentand add them all back in.Now, you dont want to just shove those keywords in,you want to adjust your content and make sure it makes sense.If it doesnt make sense for the user, its not relevant,dont add them in.But think of it this way.If you already rank for a head term, like dog food,dont you think its going to be really easyto rank for terms like organic dog food,dog food for small animals,dog food with free shipping.
Once you rank for the head term, Google will almost instantly rank youfor all these long-tail termsassuming the content on your page is relevant,and you should see the results within a 30-day period.Once you adjust all these keywordsand add them within your text,what you then want to do is thengo back to Google Search Console,in their top bar, add in the URLs of all the pageswhere you adjusted contentand have them re-index that page.When you do that, what youll find istheyll index it fasterand youre much more likely to see the rankings increasesquicker than if you just waited for Googleto crawl the content on their own.Now, the last tip I have for you is, go back into Search Console, see all the pages that have some traffic, but very little traffic, in other words most of the keywords that theyre ranking for are on page two or page three,and what youll want to do issee what other pages on your site are very relevantto that page thats ranking on page two or page threefor most of the termsand see
if you can interlink them together By interlinking your pages together,the juice starts flowing,and youll find that it starts bringing up all your pages,they start ranking higherand as you start ranking higher, youre thinking, hey, Neil, this is just increasing my rankings,this isnt helping me rank for more keywords.Well, once those keywords start ranking higher and higher,you can go back and do the previous stepin which you take the keywords that are ranking higher,put them back into Ubersuggest,find all the long-tail variations,and then boom, you adjust the pageto include those terms as well.So if you follow all of that,youll notice that youre going to start rankingfor more and more keywords over time.Best of all, you dont have to link building.Its one of the simplest strategies that I have been usingand this is how Ive grown my trafficover the years.Most people continue to write more and more new content.I only write one blog article a week,but my team adjusts 90 blog posts, per month, on our site.Thats how effective this strategy is.Its more effective than writing new content.If you need help getting more search traffic, check out ad agency, Neil Patel Digital, and if you have any questions,leave a comment below.
